The student council
The student council represents the student body. This means that we provide you with independent services, represent you and your fellow students vis-à-vis other institutions and advise you on questions about your studies and the course of your studies. We also represent the student council in a large number of department committees and in the wider university public and thus protect the interests of the students.
The council is made up of honorary members of the student council. Of course, anyone who wants to get involved in student council work can do so. Simply come along to a student council meeting without obligation and find out about the opportunities for participation. We also always need active support when planning events. The student council lives from people like you!
All activities of the student council are organized by the student council, which is elected at the beginning of each semester in a student council general assembly.
The council consists of at least 4 people (chairperson, deputy chairperson, finance officer and deputy finance officer) and initially any number of student representatives. You can find out who is on the current student council under People.
The tasks of the student council are in particular
- to represent the professional interests of its members,
- to take a stand on university policy issues, insofar as they are subject-related and
- to maintain interdisciplinary and international student contacts on a subject-related level.
