Pre-course

The perfect start to your studies!

The Department of Mathematics offers a preliminary course before each winter semester. Although this is voluntary, we strongly recommend it.

Why should you take part?

In the three-week course, you will repeat, consolidate and, in some cases, deepen your knowledge of the school material from the upper school. But it's not just about formulas:

Learning uni mode: You will get to know the typical university format even before the first official day. The preliminary course consists of a lecture (listening and taking notes) and exercises (solving and comparing tasks yourself). This reduces the "culture shock" at the start of the semester.

Get to know people: The first study groups and friendships that last throughout the entire course are often formed in the preliminary course. If you take part here, you won't be sitting alone in the lecture hall for the first week.

Minor subject

If you want to choose physics or computer science as a minor subject, it also makes sense to attend their preliminary course.
