Examination protocols

Especially in the Master's program, the written final exams give way to oral exams. This requires a different kind of preparation: as there are no written records of the exams, Master's students in particular have to rely on the memory records of their predecessors.

The principle of audit trails

We manage these memory protocols and ensure that the inventory is constantly expanded and updated. We are part of the FSR and work on a voluntary basis alongside our own studies, so please understand that the processes may take some time.

You have the opportunity to obtain examination transcripts from us. These have been submitted or prepared by other students who have already taken the exams. In order to ensure that our inventory is always up to date, we require all users of the transcript rental service to provide a transcript of their own exam and therefore charge a €5 deposit. You can find out more about the modalities on this page.

The Rules of Procedure: Please read!

1) Borrowing examination transcripts

To borrow examination transcripts, bring 5 euros in cash (suitable) for each transcript to the consultation . We will then print out your transcript and give you a receipt for your loan.

2) Withdrawal of examination transcripts

Within one year, you must return a memory protocol for the course in which the protocol was borrowed. The deposit of 5 euros can only be refunded if the protocol

  • has been prepared independently,
  • is submitted within one year,
  • complies with the guidelines and
  • is available as a PDF file.

The stipulation of a submission deadline serves to ensure that the minutes are up to date. Due to other uses in the student council, the deposit amount cannot be repaid after more than one year.

The deposit amount is also issued during office hours.

3) Guidelines for minutes

A returned transcript must contain the following:

  • Date of the examination (1st/2nd date), optional: Date of the examination
  • Type of examination (oral/written)
  • Examination subject and names of the examiner (if possible also those of the assessors)
  • All examination questions

Optionally, you can state the following in the transcript:

  • Grade
  • Short answers to the examination questions
  • A brief comment on the examination atmosphere and a personal assessment

The record must not contain the following:

  • Personal data (name / matriculation number) of the examinee

In the case of an incomplete transcript, the transcript committee decides on the acceptance of the transcript.

4) Purchase of protocols

If you are listening to a newly offered subject for which we do not yet have protocols, please contact us at protofsmathde.
