External events

With so many events on offer at the university, it's easy to lose track. Here we have listed some that are not offered by the Student Representative Council, but by other bodies.

Department of Mathematics

The department offers regular information events that you can attend to help you plan your further studies. The events cover topics such as studying abroad, the department's Master's degree programs and the possibility of doing a doctorate.
You can find an overview of the events on the department's website.

Unibib, research, Citavi, LaTeX

You can not only borrow books from the Unibib, but it also organizes training courses on various topics. Contrary to what you may have heard from other degree courses, the first real assignment on our course is the Bachelor's thesis. It can be helpful to familiarize yourself with various topics beforehand:

  • "Researching successfully at last": This course gives you initial guidance on how to proceed systematically with an academic paper.
  • Citavi introduction: You should use Citavi so that you can organize your literature well. In this course, you will learn how to do this and what advantages it has.
  • LaTeX introduction: Have you ever written many formulas in Word using the formula editor? If not, then be happy and use LaTeX instead! It may take a little getting used to, but you'll learn all about it in this course,

You can find an overview of all the training courses on offer on the corresponding page of the Unibib.

For first-year students: "Right from the start"

This lecture series provides a good overview of various topics that may be important for starting your studies, but are not subject-specific. For example, listen to lectures on

  • Time and self-management,
  • scholarships and funding,
  • first insights into science.

You can also find links to the documents on the associated website if you were unable to listen to a lecture live.
